DFL Caucus & Convention
The DFL endorsement is a crucial step in the mayoral race. To earn it, a candidate must secure at least 60% of delegate votes at the City Convention. The process begins with precinct caucuses, where supporters elect delegates who advance through ward conventions before the final citywide vote.
Precinct Caucuses
The path to endorsement starts at precinct caucuses on April 8, 2025, where Minneapolis residents gather to elect delegates to conventions. These delegates will play a direct role in determining which candidate advances toward the DFL endorsement for mayor. Attending your caucus is the first step in supporting your candidate.
If you can’t attend your precinct caucus in person on April 8, 2025, you can still participate by submitting a non-attendee form.
When filling out the form, under "Would you like to attend your City Convention on July 19 and July 20 that endorses for Mayor, Park Board, and Board of Estimate & Taxation?" select "Yes" to run as a delegate or alternate. Additionally, under "Do you support a candidate or issue?" check "Yes" and write Emily Koski for Mayor to ensure your support is counted.
Ward Conventions
After precinct Caucuses, Ward conventions will be held. Ward conventions are critical for building support and ensuring strong representation at the citywide level.
